Some Shitty Band @ Ruby Rabbit

Oct. 26, 2007

A bit of a background story first...

We had a 2threads contributors 'get together' at The Dolphin in Surry Hills early Friday evening. We chatted, had some beer and played pool. After this my friend Kate( or Ekaterina, you gorgeous thang ) and I were supposed to have time to ourselves and go to Ruby Rabbit as was agreed to the day before when we met for coffee in the city.

So it meant (to me) that we had to cancel our other appointments for the night (or so I thought) and I even cancelled my meeting with another friend, Elle. But it turned out that Kate wasn't feeling well because she had consumed an insane amount of Passion Pop at some birthday party the night before after our meeting in the city.

So now, she had to leave earlier than planned because of this and I was left wandering Oxford Street alone so I rang my friend Elle again to see if she still wanted to hook up. Elle already had plans for the night and the fact that I told her that I was spending time with Kate probably did not go too well. Who knows?! (maybe and more likely that it really did not bother her one bit!)

I ended up hanging around in front of The Oxford Art Factory where the Klaxons were playing. After their gig, the people came out and I was hoping to spot a friend or two but ended up going to Ruby Rabbit alone like a 'Nigel Nobody' : (

Which brings me to the Shitty band @ Rubby Rabbit story...

I got to the club just after 10pm and it was almost dead on the ground floor but had a band night on the second. I went up there to find this band (pictured below) playing and the lead singer dressed as a Native American Indian was lighting a fire(seriously) inside the club. Wow! I thought, people have been kicked out of here for less than that...ha ha

Anyways, we wasn't and I stayed for a bit and took some pictures for you to look at:

Puma X Yo! MTV Raps Party

Oct. 24, 2007

Yo! Yo! Yo! Just throw your hands in the aiiiya and wave it like you just don't caiiiya...
Old Skool is back big time boiiiii ha ha...Big Daddy Kane, Mc Shan, Doug E. Fresh, & etc

Back in the day, the homies had gold chains, attitude, and late 80's - early 90's style. That means bright colours especially red, Green & Yellow. Mc Hammer had baggy pants, New Jack Swing was down and boys hair style look like Bart Simpson's...lol

Anyways, I went to the MTV Sydney studio for the Puma X Yo! MTV Raps party on an early Wednesday night. It was a launch party for the old skool inspired Puma Threads. There were lots of sneakers, boys and girls with attitude, rappers, b-boys, girlies in tight jeans & local celebs.

Yah! it was a fun party and I loved it...

Anyways, here are some pictures for yaaoooooooo boiiiiiii:

Sunday

Gabby Shoot

Oct. 21, 2007

Okay, so on a sunny Sunday when normal people do family lunches, picnics on parks, attend church, or play sport. I was busy working on my art for art's sake. I was shooting Gabby in some hotel room at Potts Point.

They say that practice makes perfect and I have a loooong way to go yet, so I will be doing a few more of these types of shoot, but with different themes and ideas each time. I have only published what I consider are PG rated pictures. The rest of the 'juicier pictures' are in my deviant art page.

Enjoy!

The first lot of pictures are kinda 'backstagey' looking. I took them while Gabby was styling her hair:

The second lot of pictures are the 'real deal'. Now I realise that this theme and the type of shots are not to everyone's taste. So if this offends you, please don't look at them:
